Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce hosted a fabulous evening at the Normandy hotel on Friday night to celebrate outstanding business achievements across Renfrewshire. Our CEO Cassie Forbes was delighted to accept the Community Champion award on behalf of Roar at the Annual ROCCO Awards.
We were thrilled to be honoured alongside so many other brilliant local businesses on the night and want to congratulate our fellow category finalists Active Communities and The STAR Project. We are so lucky in Renfrewshire to work alongside other such charities, who all put their local community at the heart of everything they do and are continuously working towards a better Renfrewshire.
Winning this award is recognition of the hard work, determination, and passion of all our staff and volunteers who work tirelessly each week to tackle loneliness and isolation among older people in Renfrewshire and keep them active and connected in their community.
Older people have been undoubtedly one of the worst affected groups by the COVID-19 Pandemic and we are still supporting so many to re-gain the confidence to get back out of the house after being at home for so many months, and in some cases now, years.
Our inspirational staff and volunteers are at the heart of these efforts.
Reflecting on the win, Cassie has said
Words can’t express how delighted we are to win this prestigious award. We were up against stiff competition and Congratulations to both Active Communities and the STAR Project for also being shortlisted. I hope this amazing award will highlight the essential work we do in Renfrewshire and raise our profile both locally and nationally. Thank you to all of staff and volunteers who work tirelessly every day supporting older people keeping them active and connected to their community.
